It's not everyday you get to meet TV stars but i got the opportunity to do just that yesterday as I sat down to lunch with Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge from Star Trek. Real name Levar Burton and his family are in Barbados on invitation from the organisers, Melissa Young and Omar Kennedy, of AnimeKon , Barbados' first pop culture event, which promises to be a riot this Saturday, June 26, 2010 – 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

The-Trident.com T-Shirt designs released

Well The-Trident has finalized it's T-shirt designs it seems and are now taking orders. Here's the piece from the site
These are the Trident T-Shirt designs Mark 1

The above shirts (and the baby tee versions (not pictured)) are the first series of products to be rolled off from our line of official Trident Gear.

The clothing line will be available to members and non members to bring an awareness of what we represent to the public.

The initial price will be:

$30 for Males and
$35 for Females

Before you run amok about the prices of the female shirts, market forces have not allowed us to price both at $30.

Since this line is the first run for Trident Gear, unfortunately, we will have to accept cash beforehand and we will present the shirts in appoximately four weeks or so.

We are currently in our ordering phase.

If you wish, you can post your order here, or PM them to myself "Trident: Barbados" or email them to barbadostrident@gmail.com with the following details:

Name (and callsign if applicable):
Amount wanted:
Color/s wanted:
Size/s wanted:
Tee Shirt/Baby Tee

Shirts in the initial run will be limited, so order yours quickly to avoid disappointment.
The sooner you make payment, the sooner your shirts will be made deliverable.

The Trident - The Centre Of It All

Need to encourage everyone to give The Trident website a look up. Started by one Omar Kennedy (some of you may know him already), it is intended to draw together young minds for free open honest discussion on current issues as well as a bit of fun. It is fast becoming the forum of choice where views contend.

Also have to thank him for trusting me with moderator duties. So come on in, sit back and relax, or jump in the ring and thrash out your ideas, all in a friendly respectful environment.

Swine Flu? It's no big deal. Well not in Barbados at least

I mean after all, when it first surfaced we were assured it hadn't reached Barbados.
Then we were assured that suspected cases were being investigated.
Then we were assured they were being check in Trinidad.
Then we were told the kits to test weren't delivered to Trinidad from PAHO/WHO as yet.
Then we were assured the test were negative.

Now a cruise ship docks with a suspected case, and we were able to check and diagnose everyone on the spot and allow them to disembark.

So I have concluded that the Swine Flu or H1N1 2009 or whatever they calling it now is just a hoax.

You may now return to regularly scheduled programming.
