Bajan Hut is readying to partner with The-Trident.com to provide an enhanced blogging experience. Why? well more hands make lighter work so the team at The-Trident.com will keep us up to date as was intended (but not achieved) here. Also, with access to more resources both people and tech, you'll have richer content, juicier stories and more feedback and discussion.
So stay tuned as we complete the move

Levar Burton

It's not everyday you get to meet TV stars but i got the opportunity to do just that yesterday as I sat down to lunch with Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge from Star Trek. Real name Levar Burton and his family are in Barbados on invitation from the organisers, Melissa Young and Omar Kennedy, of AnimeKon , Barbados' first pop culture event, which promises to be a riot this Saturday, June 26, 2010 – 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
See you there!!!

Adverising -vs- Spam.
its always good to see alternative 'news sources' popping up on the landscape and i know we all like to use available mediums to get the word out, but there is a line that needs to be observed by 'businesses' (i use the word business loosely here)
Now Barbados Today is not alone in their abuse of my personal comms channels, we have TellBarbados, CaribZoomZoom, ThisandThatBajan in the race as well, and it is becoming evident that there is some level of sharing (not sure if for profit or otherwise) of information between the different entities as they come about.
To compound the issue, when we use the 'unsubscribe' facility it doesn't work, and i have reason to believe that this unsubscribe button is being used for sinister actions aimed at disadvantaging competitors.
I wish to advise businesses that in their efforts to reach as wide an audience as possible that you do not allow yourselves to be blacklisted by the target audience before they even see your product. Some people put extreme care into protecting their contact details, and when these appear to be on the market to the highest bidder, a sense of betrayal envelopes the consumer, sealing off any potential business.

Adrian Green
the Bump n Wine Café in front cheering fans. I took the opportunity to buy a
copy for myself and as I sit and listen I will encourage everyone to get a
copy as well. Really gets the mind tingling even if we don't agree with
everything he says. Also on the CD you get a piece by DJ Simmons and another
with Damani Ri.
Good stuff
